EA | Pale youthful lemon colour. Muted nose with apple and hay fruit with an earthy and confected tone to it. A touch on the oxidative side apmplifying the wines singular appley quality. The palate comes with lovely airy lightness to it and a fine acid line of vibrancy and freshness. The finish is suitably dry and invigorating brisk with a lemony bite.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2028. 89
SF | Ghostly pallor, a stucco relief; small and persistent bead beneath a watery rim. The nose ellides gravitas and enigma; surely that can't be oak with such a lack of colour? Something almost aldehydic, resinous, linden, tilleul, a touch of kerosene; fruit is not at the forefront of one's thoughts. Until one actually tastes it that is, and the enigma starts to unravel; soft orcahrd fruit, recalling Pinot Blanc as much as Chardonnay; a delicate apple charlotte, menague personality, stone fruit depth and a lively peroration. Elegance above al else here, but no lack of concentration or depth. 91
AR | A pale lemon in colour, this is showing an attractively subtl complexity of aroma with lessy notes of nuttiness and appley fruit; with a mousse that strikes the tongue as you taste, the fruit is ripe and appley in flavour with background notes of grilled nuts streaked with a fine blade of tangy, citrusy acidity that brings the whole enterprise together in a balanced whole; indeed the freshness brought by the acidity feels like a more northerly corner of the Champagne region;Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 91
