SF | Exceptionally pale, almost translucent. The nose is assertive however, with oak to the fore, oatmeal, quince, apricto and even a tropical dimension. banana rather than mango maybe. Impressive mid-palate definition; a generous velvety oak encasement, and a mealy profile, bolstered by an impressive kick of alcohol and a firm finish. Food friendly, one would have thought, and capable of aging. The acidity provides the main point of difference from a generic village Burgundy, which it otherwise resembles. This is interesting in itself. 89
AJ | Steel green-gold; evidently a reductive style after two oxidative styles ... so this is a region which embraces different aesthetics. Leafy and resinous scents; church candlewax, too, Not forceful, but a presence in the glass. This is a light to medium-bodied, acid-driven wine in clean style with a waxy, resinous cast to it. Good width in the mouth and the acidity, too, is no excessively dominant. There are some retronasal aromas and those who seek 'minerality' might find it here, though it doesn't seem saline. A little more honey would be nice (the finish is faintly bitter) but this is competent and well-made.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2028. 87
RM | pale with a green tinge; lovely fresh green apple and toast character on the nose and palate with a good creamy texture lingering onto a crisp slightly extractive finish.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2028. 90
