SF | Aubergine black, uncompromising of colour. The nose is smoky; a little toasty; behind that flowers and dark fruit; loganberry and sloe are recalled. The palate is almost overwhelmed by its acidity; not quite sour, but threatening to undermine the ensemble and its potential to develop, for all the evident quality of the primary fruit. 87
AJ | Dark, dense black-red. Scents of fruit compote: ample simple charm. A little bit stewy. Denser and fuller on the palate than I was expecting. There is still some lack of focus, but the delivery is generous: you're getting a lot of wine here. Not ringingly ripe and one or two finishing bitter notes, but overall an over-delivering wine for the short to mid-term.Drink Dates: 2025 - 2032.
