SF | Dense midnight black, with a forthright nose which hints at generous extraction ( tar, pencil shaving) and ripe fruit. Both are confirmed on the palate which is both sinewy and demonstrably ripe , the sweep of its argument pointing to a surfeit of effort and a lack of compensatory finesse, the latter much in demand in such a warm year. Too much of a good thing?! 89
AJ | Dark, purple black-red, though barely opaque at the core now. Bottle 1: corked Bottle 2: sweet, fresh, and warm, with attractive black-cherry fruits. Smooth, lively St Emilion with a pretty sweet tone for the short term. The oak is showing and the wine risks a little dryness, so I wouldn't wait long.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2030.
