AR | This is a medium ruby in colour, and with garnet at the rim of the glass, starting to show signs of evolution; you really need to swirl the glass to start getting much in the way of sangio aromas, but they are there, if lurking shyly; and when you taste, there's a pleasantly forward red cherry fruit flavour there in medium-bodied vein, albeit rather sooner puled up that you might have liked thanks to the tannins kicking in and drying a tad on the back palate; one for relatively early drinking. Drink Dates: 2025 - 2032. 89
MP | Compact and tidy with blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, liquorice, cinnamon, clove and forest floor. Although still very closed and dominated by wood tannins at the moment, the finish unfolds and provides a backdrop of blackberry, Victoria plum and incense. The fruit may struggle to eventually make itself heard above the oak but it's a modern interpretation of this legendary DOCG. Drink Dates: 2028 - 2035. 93
