AJ | Dark, saturated red black, still just opaque. There's a clear warmth and breadth to the Grand Vin that wasn't evident in Segla. The teased ripeness is sweet-toned and floral, and this aroma has all the class and finesse to its fruit that Rauzan-Segla so often shows. Very complete, too; serene and harmonious. Remarkable for the vintage. Bright and fresh, though a little less ripe and with a little less palate wealth than I expected from that breadth of aroma. Ample grace and charm, nonetheless, as well as a similar fruit purity to that visible on the Segla Drink Dates: 2027 - 2038. 91
SF | Bold deep purple, bright and eager. A subtle attractive nose marries red fruit and spring flowers; behind that white tobacco and warm stones. Pure and evocative, unusually so in this somewhat prosaic vintage. The palate maintains the themes of generosity and harmony, with balletic elgance of tannins, and a precise lifted fruit character building to an overall impression of balance and integration, one which takes full account of the modest quality of the vintage, then enhances it naturally and with supreme skill. Drink Dates: 2028 - 2039. 92
