Sweet, soft, graceful, ripely vegetal and cured-leaf aromas rather than penetrating fruit -- which is the PL ageing process at work already. Ample charm here. Soft, graceful and ample, with relatively plump fruit and soft tannins; the fruit is already moving forward from the primary phase, and is riper and less acid-brisk than for many wines this year. SF | Ruby with the faintest of fades towards garnet at the rim. A reticent nose, hearthside and dried flowers perhaps. The palate is a little more forthcoming with focus and definition of cassis fruit, pleasingly unobtrusive chalky tannins and a clean finish. Modest but rewarding, modestly so.
