AJ | Dark black red though not opaque at the core; ample scarlet at the meniscus. Sweet, soft, graceful, ripely vegetal and cured-leaf aromas rather than penetrating fruit -- which is the PL ageing process at work already. Ample charm here. Soft, graceful and ample, with relatively plump fruit and soft tannins; the fruit is already moving forward from the primary phase, and is riper and less acid-brisk than for many wines this year. An earthiness to finish. You won't have to wait long and for the vintage this is relatively wealthy, soft, gratifying and accessible. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2033. 88
SF | Ruby with the faintest of fades towards garnet at the rim. A reticent nose, hearthside and dried flowers perhaps. The palate is a little more forthcoming with focus and definition of cassis fruit, pleasingly unobtrusive chalky tannins and a clean finish. Modest but rewarding, modestly so. Drink Dates: 2026 - 2030. 89
