AJ | Dark black-red, and very nearly opaque Warm, sweet, light and elegant aromas, but a little leafy and secondary already, without any clear core of fruit. With time in the glass, there's a strange, slightly sickly aroma appears, and the wine seems a little confected. Some orange and tangerine, on the bright side. Let's give it more evolutionary time. Twenty-five minutes later, and things have settled; the wine remains sweet-toned, but the fruit core is pure Ripe and sweet in the mouth. Nothing green or leafy at all, but the fruits are a little confit and lack some vitality. So I have some style qualms - but the density, tenacity and tannin quality is hugely impressive, and this is a wine with a fifteen-year lifespan in view. (Style is a subjective matter.) It has serious drinking appeal for those who love chunky, ripe right-bank wine. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2032. 88
