AJ | Dark, saturated black-red, just off opaque at the core. Light, leafy, fresh but fully ripe, with some pretty raspberry fruits. Good concentration, but the style is rather edgy and chilly and I struggle to find much innate sweetness of any sort here. 'Serious stuff' nonetheless, thanks to those tannins. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2031. 86
SF | Velvety purple, with a generous nose of vanillin, ripe plum and clove. Then black cherry, gunpowder and iodine; pleasing in its detail, beguiling in its generosity. The palate introduces a note of gravitas however, with its gravelly tannins and spicy grip. The clench of oak will 'subside' over the next couple of years, leaving a core of definition and depth of flavour which will please. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2034. 88
