Alison Buchanan: Now this is very strange – non–vinous and almost Ribena–esque in terms of concentration and intensity, allied to some licorice – and yet the Ribena is dilute on the palate. Intense weight and concentration initially diffuses quickly – strange progression. 14.5
Alex Hunt: Very distinctive blackcurrant and peppermint aroma. Aggressive acidity persists on the palate, while the ultra–aromatic flavor sits somewhat uncomfortably in the frame of an older wine. 11.5
Andrew Jefford: Full yellow–gold. Intriguing aromas that for me are still viable and not over–mature: a perfumed, sweet–scentedness; a sense of fresh herbs. Fine concentration and depth, with cool, limpid lime fruit still much in evidence. Impressive. There is some mineral depth on the finish, too. Searching concentration and a long, persistent finish. It is still not going through the kind of entrancing modulations that an aged Riesling would go through (and over a 20–year timespan), but this would provide some stimulating drinking. 16
