Tim Atkin: Opaque, dense, youthful color. Concentrated, minty, very elegant, lots of oak, sweet fruit, smoky oak, a hint of bonfire, fresh acidity on the finish. A little rubbery, but good tannins, nice texture, some freshness. Well balanced, refreshing. Stylish and complex, nice tannins and balance. 17
Gerard Basset: Deep ruby with hints of garnet. Fairly open nose: cedar wood with elegant cassis. Foursquare, but with ripe tannin, an excellent concentration of flavors—blackcurrant, cigar—and a long finish. 18
Anthony Rose: Youthful ruby, good color; leafy, herbal undertones, stylish vanilla oak, rich, ripe, opulent cassis and blackberry fruit underscored by quite powerful, vanillin oak; a bittersweet chocolaty element with good fruit concentration and richness here, supple, even succulent tannins, though the structure for medium-term aging is in place; very nicely balanced and stylish modern Bordeaux-style. Smart wine. 18.5
