Tim Atkin: Deep, rich color. Charry, smoky oak on the nose. Hint of rubber. Big, minty, lots of tannin; ambitious wine, highish acid, but lots of fruit to back it up. Leafy, fresh finish. Fine-grained tannins, well-made wine that hasn’t quite come together on the palate yet. Complex, serious, well structured and should age for 5+ years. 16
Gerard Basset: Deep ruby-garnet. Reasonably pronounced nose. Blueberry, tarragon. Lively and fresh, ripe tannin, young berry with herbal touches; medium finish. 15
Anthony Rose: Medium ruby hue; decent aromatic quality; some red-fruit character on the palate, mulberry and cherry, fruit concentration and integrated oak; initially juicy, while the tannins are quite firm and chunky, the finish rather dry. Should be enjoyable with the right kind of food that will absorb those tannins. 15.5
