Tim Atkin: Thick, dense purple. Opaque. Ripe, powerful, concentrated nose with a hint of dead fruit. Decent acidity and freshness, despite the concentration, sweet tannins, good use of oak. Fleshy, slightly smoky. Acid-dominated finish. 11
Gerard Basset: Deep ruby. Fairly open. Blackberry and plum, sweet spices. Powerful structure, ripe tannin, cigar box and ripe black fruit; medium-long finish. 17
Anthony Rose: Medium ruby hue, quite forward and evolved on the nose and on the palate, too; starts out nicely, with attractive aromas, a hint of leafiness, and some chocolaty flavors; supple, juicy, mid-palate of dark red fruits, while the finish is quite firm and extracted, the alcohol a little present, and the tannins on the dry, chunky side. 15
