Tim Atkin: Mid-ruby/purple. Bright. Oak-dominated, charry nose. Hard to smell the fruit for the wood. Sweet, spicy palate, fresh acid, smoky, meaty, developing quickly in bottle, but good to drink now. Some red fruits and pepper spice, but the oak is drying out the finish. 11
Gerard Basset: Medium-deep ruby. Shy nose at first but quickly revealing itself. Smoky character, stewed black fruit. Firm on the attack, slightly hollow, quetch fruit on the palate; medium finish. 14
Anthony Rose: Good ruby color; almost sweet and spicy mulberry-like perfume; fair volume of dark red-fruit flavors here, with supple, juicy tannins and good fresh acidity; well-crafted style, with juicy mulberry-fruit flavors; approachable now but with quite firm grippy tannins and acidity. See it through for a few years yet? 15.5
