Tim Atkin: Mid-ruby, bright rim. Oak-dominated, bonfire nose. Rather nasty palate, high acid, confected, youthful brambly fruit but dry, oaky finish. Clumsily acidic finish. 8

Gerard Basset: Medium ruby. Quite discreet on the nose. Elegant blackberry, milk chocolate. Very ripe texture, silky tannin, sweet black fruit wrapped in chocolate; medium-long finish. 16

Anthony Rose: Medium ruby; sweetly oaky aromas with slight herbal undertone; the fruit here is quite sweet in dark red berry vein, with some chocolaty oak and supple tannins, well-made if a tad one-dimensional with rather grippy, almost chunky, tannins that tend to fur up the back palate. Needs a good grill to show at its best. 15.5
