Tim Atkin: Mid-ruby, with some development at the rim. Meaty, spicy, some vanilla oak and a touch of overripe tomato skin here. Acidic finish, adding leanness to the wine. Savory sweet, ripe and leafy. Prematurely aged. 7
Gerard Basset: Medium ruby-garnet. Reasonably open nose. Young fresh berry with hint of sage and basil. Powerful but not heavy, quite spicy on the palate; medium finish. 15.5
Anthony Rose: Mid-ruby hue, distinctive Ovaltiney/chocolatey nose mingled with very ripe, dark plum and blackberry fruits; ditto on the palate, where the fruit is sweetly, mulberryish and ripe and the tannins are supple and juicy enough to make this wine approachable at an early stage. It has a distinctive character that grows on you. I think this could be good with the right food. 15.5
