Nicolas Belfrage: Nose of dried fruits, apricots; not strong. Very sweet on the palate, the residual sugar balanced by firm acidity; dried-fruit flavors well expressed. Has a certain penetration, some charm, and pretty good length. 15.5
Michael Edwards: Elegant, limpid, burnished gold. Dried yellow fruits—especially apricot—on the nose: inviting and mouthwatering. Ripe conserved fruits, easy and digestible. A widely popular style, no doubt. 16
Jancis Robinson: Perfectly clear, coppery gold. Mid-intensity on the nose and lots of rancio. Only medium sweet and very nutty. Not so far from a Bual Madeira! Extremely clean and refreshing. An apéritif Vin Santo for its bracing character? Lovely balance, though relatively light-bodied. Light but tangy and fresh. Drink 2007–17. 17
Franco Ziliani: Very bright and brilliant; sunny golden color. The nose is very fresh, dry, and salty, with almond, apricot, oriental-spice, and dried-grape notes. Very elegant and with a lively acidity. Good balance on the palate, rich, but more dry than sweet, with great freshness and a good finish. 15.5
