Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Elegant, earthy, mineral nose, with violets and roses, cassis and wild strawberries, and touches of road tar, tobacco leaf, and smoke. Inviting, layered palate, with great, refined tannins, sweet black and red fruits, chalk and crushed stones, and a long, almost citrus, finish. Super effort. 95
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Sweetly spicy, with some oak influence it would seem. Prettily done in this style; fruitcake. As the nose sketched out: sumptuous and sweet. Lots of concentration. I would let the sweetness calm down for a year or two first before broaching. 89
Michael Palij: Curious nose, almost oxidized, with very ripe, stewed black fruit, little complexity, and a very noticeable streak of alcohol alongside awkward, gangly tannins. Showing little balance and the ravages of too much sun. 83
