Bruno Besa: Light garnet to tawny. Open, floral, rose-water, and tar nose, with small red fruits and medicinal herb undertones. Lean, with some red fruit also on the palate, and a fairly green finish. 85
Andrew Jefford: Clear deep black-red. A warm, sweet-fruited mist of aroma, rich with cranberry and pomegranate. Soft, tender, but very generous. Juicy acidity, melting tannins, ample fruited depths. A lovely teddy-bear mouthful of Barolo. 89
Michael Palij: Pronounced nose, with medicinal notes of eucalyptus, tar, camphor, and stewed fruit. The tannins dominate proceedings on the palate, with an aggressive, drying edge and there is an absence of generosity of fruit. Many of the wines display a similar, overripe character, where the fruit seems prematurely evolved and the tannins are consequently the dominant feature in the wine. 89
