Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Open, ripe, spicy nose, with ripe prunes, leather, rose water, petrol, and chalk. Medium body, fairly well-balanced, with quite a challenging, lean finish. 89
Andrew Jefford: Clear and bright. Dry, leafy aromas. Slender and fresh, without the ample resource of the best of its peers. Nonetheless, a sound Barolo for drinking before too long. 83
Michael Palij: Cooked red and black fruit on the nose, including plum and cherry, with herbal aromas of sage and bay and earthy overtones. The palate is powerful and high in alcohol, with concentrated fruit and fully resolved, ripe tannins. The alcohol and fruit ripeness make this strangely ponderous and overripe, but the structure seems to be there. Will give it the benefit of the doubt and hope that it will knit in a few years. 92
