Essi Avellan: Peachy hue to the pale color. Soft, stone-fruit nose, with pear drops and baked apples. Austere on the palate, which finishes on a drying note. Simple, ripe appley fruit with a faint bruised undertone. 87
Simon Field: Pale flax, then a rather earthy nose; hints of thyme and sage even increase the interest quota; behind that, hints of peat and a malty subtext, the fruit a little compromised by sugar; revenge wrought by the powerful shards of acidity at the back of the palate. 87
Anthony Rose: Pale lemon-gold, there’s a baked apple-pie and clove-spice element to the aromas, an attractive fruit quality, quite winey in character, with bubbles that fade quite rapidly, leaving an appealing appley fruitiness in the mouth, an apple-skin grip and tang, and crisp, dry finish. 89
