BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Deep red-scarlet; clear and translucent. Warm, fresh, fragrant, graceful fruit, with satisfactory ripeness, though no great aromatic power. Ample claretty classicism for all that. Rather dry, tangy, stringy fruits, lacking wealth, depth and fullness. Considerably adrift of the grand vin in this case, probably to the latter’s great benefit. | 85

Michael Schuster | Closed, minerally; nicely balanced medium-full wine, fresh and lightly tannic with a sweet, gently juicy core flavor, modest complexity and good length. Will be seductive enough in a few years. 2024–34+. | 88
