Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in appearance, off-opaque. Fresh, clean, sweet-pressed blackcurrant in soft and affable style, with a little licorice warmth and moist vanilla behind. Quite, unshowy but satisfying aromas. Full and deep, though quite cool and lean in style on the palate. The concentration means this wine doesn’t have to be hurried over. On the other hand, the shady style would be best before long, because it will grow bonier with keeping. | 87
Michael Schuster | Another red-fruit nose to smell, if closed overall; a lean, crisp, quite tannic mid-weight. Light St-Estèphe, chewy, brisk in acidity; dry, tannic, slightly forbidding wine. A ripe fruit is there, but for me this would need very protein-rich fare to absorb its astringency at the moment. Fairly brief, and a quite tough prospect! 2024–30+. | 85
