Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in color, though clear and translucent at the core. Light and tenuous, almost evanescent aromas. Better warmth than some, though (no grassiness here). Soft, harmonious, even if you have to search to find the curranty fruit. Smooth, and again the dry notes typical of less propitiously sited St-Emilions this year, though the ripeness is fully in evidence. Some firm tannins, too, and solid, workmanlike plum- currant flavors. A sound if fundamentally simple wine for swift drinking. | 87
