BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin | Dense, concentrated color. Youthful, lots of smoky oak on the nose, with a hint of greenness and geranium. Mid-weight, high acidity, quite green on the palate, too, but with some redeeming notes of tangerine and pomegranate. Needs time, given the chalky minerality. A sleeper of a wine. | 16.5

Alex Hunt | This is quite hard to read on the nose. There are some grassy, underripe elements, as well as heady black-fruit aromas. A slightly tense, exaggerated freshness pervades the palate without quite being matched to the flavor, which remains soupier than the structure would suggest. Not very coherent. | 13.5

Stephan Reinhardt | Dark ruby color. Very sweet and plummy on the nose, also alcoholic, black-tea pot. Silky, quite well balanced initially, but then very powerful and rich, with massive tannins, so it dries out on the finish. Quite alcoholic aftertaste. | 16
