BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin | Ruby/crimson-hued. High-toned, with quite a bit of oak and some volatility. Marked acidity on the palate and slightly overripe, jammy fruit. Something of a two-half wine, with acid up front and jammy sweetness on the finish. | 13

Alex Hunt | Interesting aromas of slightly roasted fruit and biscuits—but a lot of alcohol apparent, too. Hollow palate, with spiky acid, tannic bitterness, and little focus or real core of flavor. | 13.5

Stephan Reinhardt | Dark ruby. Ripe if not overripe fruit aromas, quite jammy and very powerful, licorice flavors. Silky and elegant, well balanced, with good length and a refreshing acidity, quite pure and firm. Not everybody’s darling but a serious wine for purists. Should age another couple of years. | 16.5
