Stephen Brook | Delicate appley nose with considerable charm. Suave attack, juicy and weighty, almost fleshy, with ample concentration and abundant fruit but not at the expense of acidity. A bold style of Riesling, but with a mineral undertow that gives structure and complexity. Excellent balance and length. | 18
Andrew Jefford | Mid-gold in color. Slightly brittle, grassy aromas; there is orchard fruit behind, but the reins are pulled back; you need to hunt for that. Much better on the palate, where fruit is to the fore, and there’s plenty of it, too: vivid, rich, round, and long. Almost creamy, indeed, and with enough ripeness to move those flavors well out of the apple zone and into delicious nectarine and peach. On the palate, this is a lovely, vivacious Clare Riesling, with lots to share. | 16.5
Stephan Reinhardt | Pale gold. Reductive style. First impression: slightly powdery on the nose, but then the ripe fruit (yellow apples and capsicum) shines through, and even where it comes from: small, ripe, and healthy Riesling grapes. Excellent on the palate: concentrated, vibrant, with good flesh/grip relation—very elegant and with very good length. This is an excellent wine that could merit an even higher score in two or three or more years. | 16.5
