Stephen Brook | More color than the other wines, which suggests an older wine, and this is confirmed by the nose, which has a light petrolly tone that’s very typical of Australian Riesling. Some are bothered by this tone, but I find it attractive when, as here, it is not too dominant. Rich and creamy on the palate, with good ripeness but without any overt sweetness. The acidity is still forceful, and the finish almost severe in its dryness. Harmonious and long. | 18
Andrew Jefford | Lovely to see the richer gold, and to smell the developed aromas, of an older wine. A lovely vault of autumn orchard fruits, of waxy honeycomb, of dew in the long grass. See: It is worth waiting. And exactly that on the palate, too. Indeed, it seems to have advanced at a cracking pace; there’s almost a lick of caramel on the tongue, hidden in the autumn fruit basket. So very satisfying, rounded, and rewarding—just something lovely to roll on the tongue. Fine work. | 16.5
Stephan Reinhardt | Straw yellow. Rich bouquet, rice aromas. Pure and elegant on the palate; firm, concentrated, and powerful also, due to alcohol. | 15
