Stephen Brook | Straightforward appley nose, not very expressive. Fresh attack, crisp yet concentrated, with good depth of fruit and a long mineral aftertaste. It’s not very nuanced now, but the balance seems impeccable, so this should develop well. Refined, limpid, and long. | 17
Andrew Jefford | Very pale gold. Light, powdery, dry; more powdered stone than fruit. A faintly farmyardy hint, too... Reduction? Either way, I am having to search for the fruit spectrum a little harder than I would have liked. On the palate, this is clean and long, with the fruit in its proper place; happily, though, it is rather taut and reserved, rather snappy; lacks a little limpidity and roundness. But it is still well constructed, pure, and varietally true and has much of the finesse of this variety in this place. Typical grapefruit-pith finish. | 15
Stephan Reinhardt | Pale silver-gold. Reductive style. Very clear and pure citrus aromas. Tart attack on the palate, good mid-palate, with ripe fruit flavors. Powerful; in its warm and powerful character, it reminds me of Germany’s 2003s. Good length, mineral but also citric. | 14.5
