Stephen Brook | Bracing appley nose withatrace of petrol. Rather soft on the attack; rounded and plump and lacks fl air and vigor. Ripe and up-front, with gentle acidity to give some lift on the finish. But it’s not very exciting or persistent. | 14
Andrew Jefford | Pale gold. A slightly burned aroma, this time, or at least that is the first impression. If you spend a little longer with the wine, it has subtle orchard fruits—indeed, the longer it is in the glass, the better it gets (perhaps a screwcap phenomenon). Delicate, poised, an intertwining of sweet jasmine and creamy apple. On the palate, this doesn’t quite have the flavor development of the very best, but it’s very good Riesling for all that: deft, graceful, fine-lined, with the same combination of lemon, green apple, cream, and jasmine. A bit abrupt on the finish. | 16
Stephan Reinhardt | Pale gold. Some plastic aromas, raisins. Elegant, rather lean, not very complex, with a good grip but no length. | 14.5
