Stephen Brook | Subdued citric nose. Fresh and limpid, yet it lacks some concentration and vigor. Ripe and fruity, with decent acidity if little complexity or persistence. A touch bland. Moderate length, with a grapefruity finish. | 14.5
Andrew Jefford | Pale silver-gold. A little raw and cardboardy on the nose, with the fruit that I trust is there in recessive mode. You could call it a very hesitant spiciness, perhaps, but it hasn’t turned its aroma machine on yet. A bit blank. Perhaps it needs time in the glass? On the palate, this is a very lemony, edgy kind of a wine, a little mean and underdeveloped—not quite enough ripeness for me. All apple here, and more cooking apple than eating apple. But since Riesling is such a compelling variety, I can still imagine enjoying a glass or two on a hot afternoon. My score is based on the intuition this wine will improve with bottle age. | 14
Stephan Reinhardt | Very pale silver. Very shy nose due to the reductive style of vinifi cation. Still tart on the quite elegant palate and on the finish. Does not show well at the moment and seems rather lean. Nonetheless, there are already some hints of maturing Riesling. | 14.5
