Michael Schuster: Medium to deep purple; dense nose of faintly smoky, minerally, ripe cherry fruit; a rich and fleshy wine, beautifully defined by its fresh acidity and imperceptibly fine tannin; juicy, freshly sweet, very long to taste, transparent, gently mouth-coating, a classic Burgundian expression of power and delicacy, with the great fruit presence of the best of the year. Sweetness, fruit, delicacy, perfume, flesh, and splendid length. An expansive, generous, hugely satisfying expression of top Vosne-Romanée. Here, too, premier cru in name but grand cru in quality. 2020–40+. 18.5/18.5+
