Neil Beckett: A very worthy rendition of a very well-placed site, just below Clos St-Jacques, with a history that dates back to the 5th century; the clos covers roughly 1ha (2.5 acres), but only the fruit from the oldest vines makes it into this cuvée. Medium-deep ruby, an authentic pale luster; very ripe and seductive black-cherry scent; already gloriously supple on entry, naturally expressive, effortless and harmonious, with excellent intensity and sweetness of fruit without any excess or jamminess, and a generous, flourishing finish. Well worth discovering. 17
