Neil Beckett: Excellent as the Amoureuses is, it is not better than the Bonnes Mares, as is the case at some other top domaines, and here is one Bonnes Mares that in its elegance, finesse, and purity definitely seems more Chambolle than Morey-St-Denis (at least partly, perhaps, because the vines are among those farthest away from the border between the villages). Medium-deep ruby, with exceptional intensity and purity of aroma and flavor, darkly fruited but not wild, as some versions can be, and very long and strong to finish. Superb. 18.5
