BUY THE WINE

Richard Mayson: Deep color, overtly ripe, toasty aromas, big and buttery with citrussy acidity and a rich toasty finish. Quite well integrated, even if it falls away a little on the finish. 15

Charles Metcalfe: Honeyed, with a suggestion of barley sugar. (Gewurztraminer? Surely not!) Rich, ripe, and bold on the palate, with high acidity, super-ripe, candied fruit, and a good whack of oak. If you like ’em big and bold, this could be for you. 14.5

Joanna Simon: Medium-deep yellow. Very ripe, slightly oxidative marmalade, peach, and cinnamon aromas. Big, ripe wine, with orange-marmalade fruit, well-judged oak, and an unctuous texture allied to good acidity. Good if not subtle. 16
