BUY THE WINE

Richard Mayson: Big and heady, almost burned butter on the nose; hefty, naturally sweet fruit, with citrussy acidity rising in the mouth yet leading to a fat rather blowsy finish. 13

Charles Metcalfe: Slightly reduced nose, with a whiff of cabbage-field. Acidity is quite high for the Alentejo, and this would probably benefit from decanting, but it does have rich, soft, apricot fruit, good acidity, and some length. 14

Joanna Simon: Sulfury reductive nose, but with spicy, grassy notes. Big, broad palate, with a sulfury minerality, an oily texture, and grassy fruit flavors. Dense, bone-dry, a bit foursquare. 14
