Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red, just off opaque at the core. Ample, sweet raspberry and plum flesh; soft licorice, too... when first opened and assayed. To my surprise, though, the aromas seem rather cooler and grassier five minutes later, and by then a sense of mixed ripeness had set in. Sound and sweet-fruited, though with some dilution and quiet, backing green tones. On the plus side, serious tannins help bring sobriety and support. This Jekyll-and-Hyde style makes the wine difficult to mark; still eminently enjoyable, though. | 87

Michael Schuster | Youthful, minerally nose; medium-full, brisk in acidity, moderately firm in tannin. Tasty, chewy, lesser Pomerol, moderate in complexity and scope, but that will be satisfying with rich, tasty fare. Accessible now, more subtle with time in bottle. 2022–32+. | 88
