Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red, though no longer opaque. Sweet, warm, and grassy—dry grasses at summer’s end. Tender plums beneath, and wild mushrooms, too; pretty. Though just a little kinky, almost waxy-ripe. Smooth, bright, close-textured, amply ripe, satisfying and—in the end—a little classier than that slightly overexotic aroma suggested. This is a serious and characterful Pomerol that, like the best of its peers, makes more of a case for 2017 than any other commune. Deep, ripe, satisfying, almost chocolatey. | 91
Michael Schuster | fine ripe fruit to smell, if still fairly tight; medium-full, fresh in acidity, finely firm in tannin; very reserved but very refined. Crisply sweet, long, fragrant, and complex within its still-firm frame. A fine, graceful, long-term Pomerol indicated. Lovely. Give it a decade in bottle though. 2030–40+. | 93
