BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane: Not a very refined integration of oak but excellent body, lovely St-Julien spices, and racy tannins with a real freshness. Pity that the oak is not up to the wine. 17

Thierry Desseauve: Oaky on the nose, but the real personality of this wine comes in the mouth: fresh, delicate, and rather brilliant. 17

Michael Schuster: fine, classy, cedary nose; a particularly elegant and restrained balance for the year; firmly but finely tannic, long and refined to taste; ripe, minerally, very persistent; a lovely long-term Langoa. 2020–35+. 16.5+
