Jesús Barquín: Less deep than average today. The nose is intense and clean: spicy, cinnamon, grapefruit. Beautifully balanced mouthfeel with good acidity and flavors that echo the nose—both in quality and intensity. The finish is fresh and expressive. 17

Nicolas Belfrage: Evolved color, medium depth with orange reflections. Inviting, mature-fruit (mainly dried) nose. Creamy and balanced on palate but just misses out on magic. Evolved but a bit short. Good now but not going anywhere. 16

Andrew Jefford: Saturated deep black-red. A fairly edgy Bretty wine: just too savory. Stewed, imprecise characters. I would find this difficult to drink, though it is concentrated and ambitious. More finesse of handling required. 11.5
