BUY THE WINE

Jesús Barquín: The nose is closed, concentrated, wanting aeration, to release the symphony of aromas that can be guessed. The palate is silky, yet intense, and demands patience to open up: balsamic licorice notes, smoked meat, ripe fruit. Chewy tannins and long finish. 16.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium deep. Woody nose. Quite rich fruit, good acidity, tannins a bit rough; needs three years. 14

Andrew Jefford: Saturated deep black-red. Soupy, round, slightly muddled aromatic profile. Tangy palate, with adequate depth but lacks precision, focus, or freshness. There’s lots of depth and thrust here, and thus elements to the wine that would provide enjoyment and satisfaction, but it’s not a star. 12
