Jesús Barquín: Warm, ripe, orange peel, a whiff of VA, black cherry. The mouthfeel adds interest: serious, dry, complex, well balanced, but the finish echoes the nose. 15

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium deep, almost opaque. Hints of wood and dried fruit on nose. Pronounced bitterness on palate, fairly well balanced but lacking in richness. Finishes dry and austere. 13

Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Sweet, warm, charming; lots of aromatic refinement here, though not much aromatic detail: time has smoothed the picture. Sound, vivid, and diagnostically bitter-sweet, with mid-palate depth and a more savory style than most; almost a faintly saline edge. Good wine; enjoyable Amarone. 14
