BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, virtually opaque. Quite oaky, herby on nose. Concentrated and rich, a marked bitterness on finish without compensating sweetness. Needs time. 15.5

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet core to thin tawny rim. Open, mature, but elegant and restrained, with layered black fruit and good minerality. Full body, mature with quite a tannic punch well balanced by the mature fruit. Not the most refined wine but very well made. 17

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Very oaky nose but has abundant dark fruits. Fairly rich on the attack, velvety, concentrated, and with very ripe tannins, this is still going strong. Some mocha tones on the finish but not too extracted or overworked. A hedonistic style but still has a future. Good length. 17.5
