Nicolas Belfrage: Quite light in color with slight turn. Sweet, ripe fruit emerges on nose. Not a lot of concentration at first, though the wine grows as it passes through mouth, quite seamlessly, and leaves a fairly firm impression of sweet ripe cherry fruit on finish. Some drying tannins at back palate but goodish length. Sangiovese type, more elegant than powerful, drinking now but could improve over a few years. 16
Bruno Besa: Pale garnet to lively pink, orange rim. Intense, persistent, mineral nose with compact small red-fruit character and hints of rosewater. Structured, refined medium-body palate with great personality and classic Sangiovese grip, well balanced by the lively, sweet fruit. A great food wine with considerable finesse. 18
Stephen Brook: Deep red. Light, fresh cherry nose; lacks a little flesh but quite elegant. Medium-bodied, seems rather slight but was tasted after some more massive and opulent wines. It has freshness and a sleek texture, with some lift and spice. Has the deftness of good Chianti rather than the weight of Vino Nobile. Good length, with ample tannin on the finish. 16
