Jesús Barquín: Slightly less deep cherry than average in the tasting. Very attractive and fine nose and palate, with a pretty nose of red berries and subtle menthol notes. Cheerful and refreshing mouthfeel, with a fruit-driven finish, rich and persistent. Delicious, one of the best today. 17.5
Alex Hunt: A little bit of raw wood still here, but otherwise an impressively focused, pure nose of blackberry and apple fruit, with an interesting camphor element. The palate is unusually tight for this lineup, but it doesn’t seem out of balance. A few years definitely required to see where this is heading. There is a slight volatile note that troubles me, so let’s see… 15.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Warm, oaky: the scent of dry reeds. There’s lots of it, but it doesn’t have huge appeal for me. I feel the cellar handling has slightly occluded the fruit presence. On the palate, it is lush, soft, open, gentle: attractive southern red wine, with a little mineral complexity but no great refinement. The discreet minerality and the evident ripeness are the main draws here. 12.5
