Jesús Barquín: Intense but warm nose, with a hint of overripeness and alcohol confirmed by the palate, together with powerful tannins never quite balanced by the acidity. Hyperbolic again for my taste. 13.5
Alex Hunt: Interesting herbal aromas over what seems like baked, raisined fruit. Stodgy, one-dimensional palate, with a certain mineral freshness but also a blunt finish. 13.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red in color. Fat, salty-savory, slightly sluggish aromas, creeping out of the glass like a clay paste. On the palate, the wine is slightly fresher and more vivacious than the aromas suggested. It’s relatively smooth in the context of some of its close-textured peers, but the fruit qualities are fine and sustained, with innate complexity. There’s ample width, too. A very fair Priorat, and a succinct summary of its place. 15
