Jesús Barquín: Textbook Priorat nose, with classic llicorella mineral profile (although this is a descriptor I personally do not favor): chamomile, Mediterranean herbs, a subtle hint of VA. Well-structured palate, good acidity and balance, controlled tannin. Clean if not particularly long finish. 15.5
Alex Hunt: There’s strange herbal wood here: a very definite Armagnac note on the nose. This aspect dominates the palate, too, sadly. I cannot get a sense of either Priorat or fruit here. 13
Andrew Jefford: Saturated deep black-purple in color. Bottle 2: Some evident oak and, beneath that, plenty of black-cherry fruit. A smooth, straightforward palate: relatively simple wine given quite forceful oak handling. I find the result rather edgy and disconcerting, without the textural subtlety, mineral complexity, and gratifying fruit of the best. 12
