Jesús Barquín: Not a very well-defined nose, dominated by lactic notes of cream and blackberry yogurt. The palate confirms this impression perhaps with better definition but lacking the interest of other wines in this tasting. 12
Alex Hunt: Baked aromas: raisins and desiccated coconut. The palate is rather sickly sweet in flavor, though without the corresponding sugar that would balance a Port with similar fruit character, so the overall balance is off-center. 12.5
Andrew Jefford: Saturated, deep black-purple. Sweet, warm, generous, and enticing, with more wildness than many: lots of fragrant tobacco leaf and cistus lifting on the summer wind. On the palate, it is a relatively slender and slight wine among its peers, with damson fruit prominent, and less density, mass, extract, and concentration, and less aromatic complexity, too. Toothsome and attractive, though. 13.5
