Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-purple, opaque at the core. Exciting aromas of real warmth and articulacy: warmed plums and berries, violets, freesias, honey, and woodbine. A lovely, heady scent. Concentrated, deep, and searching, with deep, tannin-grand fruits—more of a taste of tannin than a texture here, but it renders the plums so much more interesting and difficult than they might otherwise be. There is bright, ripe, jubilant acidity interwoven through the wine, balanced, informing everything else that is there. The concentration and definition are outstanding, as is the crisp, dramatic extraction. Commanding, pure wine. | 93
Michael Schuster | A dense, blackberry-ripe fruit to smell; full, brisk in acidity, fairly tannic; a bit brusque in flavor at the moment, a veritable mass of fruit to taste, slightly muscular with, perhaps, currently more force than finesse. But given time, this will be a very satisfying mouthful of fruit, that’s for sure. Matter—if that is what you like. 2027–37+. | 91
