Simon Field | Deep brooding color. Nose recalls Mediterranean pine forests, maybe even a touch of garrigue. Chocolate, figs, plum, and Black Forest gateau; pinpoint tannins, a touch of fennel and quinine even; very interesting and hard to judge, such is the rigor of its inscrutable youth. | 93

Andrew Jefford | Dense, dark black-red, with a purple rim. Beefy, earthy fruits, with lots of both sweetness and plant-sap immediacy shaking out of the glass here, urgent and inviting. Rich, sweet, close-textured, and energetic wine, which is just a little raw and undigested at present. There is a huge amount in there, though. The style is amply ripe, and there are promising tea-leaf and rose aromas. Give it time, and you’ll find something very good, if clearly out on the sweet side. May eventually warrant an even higher score. | 94

Richard Mayson | Strangely sweet and sour on the nose, dark-chocolate intensity, still demure, with more to give. Bittersweet fruit, with full, firm tannins with a green streak, minty ripeness, and a long, linear finish. All there but perhaps at a difficult stage in its evolution. | 90
